Lunch Exercise Adds Up

Fitting exercise into a busy schedule can be difficult, but just because you don't have a 90 minute block of free time to go to the gym doesn't mean that you have to totally give up on getting fit. In fact, lunch breaks offer a great way to burn calories. No, we don't mean by skipping lunch -- go ahead and eat a healthful meal. Then, in the 10-15 minutes you have left, squeeze in some physical activity. Moderate exercise, which burns 300 calories per hour, can help you burn an average of 50 calories in 10 minutes. If you exercise harder and/or have a body weight above 150 pounds, then your calorie burn will be even greater. Those 10 minute intervals can really add up.
