Nutrition News: Plant-Based Eating Pattern

The U.S. News and World Report recently assessed top diet plans in nine different categories and guess what?The DASH diet won for the 7th year in a row!According to a report by healthfinder.gov,

"Each panelist considered the 38 diets across a number of areas, including the likelihood of sticking to the diet, the odds of losing weight in the short- and long-term, and effectiveness against heart disease and diabetes.

One reason the DASH diet came in first is that it was developed and tested by the U.S. National Institutes of Health, [Dr. David] Katz said.

'The evidence for DASH is stronger than it is for some of the other diets, and it includes foods that are familiar to most Americans and can work for real families in the real world,' he said.

The U.S. National Institutes of Health agreed."
