Everything-Spiced Salmon

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1/2 tsp poppy seeds
  • 1/2 tsp dried minced onion
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 4 3-ounce salmon fillets

Directions:Toast the sesame seeds in a dry, nonstick skillet over medium heat for about a minute. Add the rest of the seasonings and remove from heat. Toss together and allow to cool. Store in a covered jar until ready to use.Press the seasoning onto the salmon fillets. Place the salmon in a baking dish and bake for 20 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.Serve hot.Chef’s Tips:Serve with grains and veggies or a salad and rice.  Salmon is done when it is no longer translucent in the center.You can also use this spice on flatbreads, grilled chicken, or other grilled fish.Nutrition Information:Serves 4. Each 1-fillet serving contains: 535 calories, 35 grams of fat, 8 grams of saturated fat, 0 g trans fat, 140 mg cholesterol, 151 mg sodium, 0 g carbohydrate, 0 g fiber, 0 g sugar, and 52 g protein.PDF HandoutSpiced Salmon Handout
