Nuts For Pizza

Serves 8 | Serving Size: 1 slice
Total Time: 28 min | Prep: 10 min | Cook: 18 min
This delicious pizza is topped with veggies and nut butter.
Ingredients:

1 pound of pizza dough
2 cups tomato sauce
2 tablespoons fresh fresh basil
1 tsp dried oregano
1 cup asparagus tips
½ cup sliced shallots or green onions
1 cup sliced mushrooms
2 tablespoons savory nut butter like almond butter
Directions:
Roll out the pizza dough and place on a sheet pan or pizza pan. Dock the dough slightly by pressing holes into it with a fork. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Bake the dough for 8 minutes.

Remove the crust from the oven. Spread out the sauce then sprinkle with fresh chopped herbs and veggies. Drizzle the nut butter over the top.

Bake at 450 degrees for 7 minutes or until the veggies are crisp-tender and the nut butter is melted.

Allow to cool for 2 minutes then slice into 8 slices
Chef's Tips:
You can make a whole wheat crust by substituting 50=100% of the flour in a pizza crust recipe with white whole wheat flour. You can also buy the pizza crust already prepared in most stores. We like to prepare the crust in a bread machine on "dough" mode.

Serve with a large tossed salad.
