Quick Fruit and Vegetable Fun for Adults or Kids

Susan Jaffe of Head Start, Sacramento, CA, has 2 quick and fun presentations:
1) For kids: Bring in different colors of apples (red, yellow, and green) for children to look at and taste. Talk about the different colors, textures, and tastes as the children try each type of apple.2) For adults: Recently, a student intern working with me did a presentation on fruits and vegetables and their nutritive content. The participants were able to sample various fruits and vegetables and learn some history about each one.

Her enthusiasm for eating nutritiously and deliciously leads her to constantly innovate and use the latest nutritional science and Dietary Guidelines to guide her creativity, from putting new twists on fajitas to adapting Italian brownies to include ingredients like toasted nuts and cooked honey. Judy’s publishing company, Food and Health Communications, is dedicated to her vision that everyone can make food that tastes as good as it is for you.
