As a Food and Health member, you have special access to the following resources...

  • Monthly Newsletters
  • PDF Handout Library
  • ClipArt Library
  • Healthful Recipe Index
  • PowerPoint Library*

Let's take a look at each one in more depth, starting with the newsletters.

Communicating Food for Health is a monthly newsletter that features handouts, healthful recipes, the latest research, and presentation ideas. Each installment features timely materials from a wide range of certified health educators. We publish each month's newsletter 3 weeks before the month begins so that you have plenty of time to plan how you'd like to use each resource. So, for example, the upcoming December 2015 newsletter will be published on November 10th.

November 2014 NewsletterWhat exactly comes with each edition? Well, it starts with 2 brand-new recipe handouts. These recipes are all exhaustively-tested, rich in nutrients, and tasty. After that comes 4 original handouts on seasonal topics, hot news, and nutrition/health basics. There's also a practitioner resource section that features a comprehensive research review of some of the latest health and nutrition studies along with some display and/or activity ideas to spice up your next event. Each edition features a full webpage that includes PDF versions of all the handouts, along with the full newsletter, links to each blog post, a seasonal theme card, and a rundown of the health and nutrition themes for the month. That rundown also features links to articles and handouts for each monthly theme.

Since your membership comes with access to all editions of the Communicating Food for Health newsletter, you can also browse archived newsletters from years gone by. Really, this alone is worth the price of admission. To learn more about the incredible team that writes the newsletters, visit the About Us page.

Now let's move on to the PDF Handout Library. You may have noticed that we offer tons of handouts -- roughly 3 per week, plus whatever's published in the latest newsletter. These handouts cover a wide range of topics -- everything from exercise ideas to healthful cooking strategies. You can search and browse all of these handouts in your exclusive member library. Each handout comes in a PDF and JPG edition and is yours to download and distribute as you see fit. What fun!

ClipArt CategoriesNext up is the ClipArt Library. With a fantastic team of dedicated artists, we've assembled a clipart library with a wide range of applications. There are 28 different categories of clipart, which means that you will be able to find whatever illustration you may need, for any project. And if you don't see what you need, use the Contact Us link at the top of the page and send us a request.

Oh, and I could never forget the Recipe Index! Our team of chefs has put together over 1,000 healthful, tasty, and rigorously-tested recipes for everything from breakfast to dessert. For easy browsing, we've put together 35 different recipe categories, so if you want to search by meal type, season, or eating pattern, we've got you covered. With this library, it's easy to search, view, copy, print, and email recipes. As a member, you can even print the photos!

Now let's talk about the PowerPoint Library. This one is exclusively for Gold Members, but it's easy to upgrade (and totally worth it!) if this is something that would be useful for you. This library is full of well-researched and engaging PowerPoint presentations that complete with great art/photos and comprehensive speaker's notes. With 10 categories full of shows (including wellness, weight, diabetes, nutrition, etc), this section of member resources also features wonderful PowerPoint templates to help you create your own presentation.

Don't Miss the Toolbars at the Top of Each PostThere are also a few great buttons and tools that can come in handy. For example, there's a search box that lets you look through all of the member-exclusive and public resources in one quick search. There's also an Email This button at the top of every page, along with a Print to PDF tool (though most pages also feature downloadable PDFs as well. Want to translate an article into another language? The Translate button on the right-hand side of every page has you covered!
