According to the newly-released Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2015-2020, it is time for us to make a shift to a healthy eating pattern.

An eating pattern represents the totality of all food and drink consumed over time, and is an indicator of health and disease risk. A healthy eating pattern is one that is nutrient-dense, while remaining within a caloric limitation, in order to maintain an optimal body weight and reduce chronic disease risk factors.

Making the shift to a healthy eating pattern from current eating habits may seem like a daunting task, but by using these eating pattern makeovers as examples, changes for the better can be achieved.
