Is it stone fruit season where you are? Peaches have finally hit the markets here, which reminded me that some fun fruit trivia might be the perfect icebreaker or newsletter addition.

Here are some fun facts about peaches...

Fun Fact #1: Peaches are part of the rose family. Also known as "drupes" or stone fruits, peaches are related to nectarines, cherries, and even mangos!

Fun Fact #2: There are two types of peaches. Freestone peaches make it easy to separate the fruit from the pit, while clingstone peaches have fruit that is tougher to detach.

Fun Fact #3: August is National Peach Month.

Fun Fact #4: The state that grows the most peaches is actually California. South Carolina grows over 30 different varieties of peaches and is the second-largest producer of peaches in the United States.
