Educator Idea File: Great Displays

Terri Marcus has two bulletin boards downstairs in Chattanooga State Technical Community College for general students to see. One is a departmental bulletin board in which they are currently doing different months for the “Year of Science” (why not make each month part of a year of health?). This features different topics. They have local, national, and international pictures and informational bullets which change each month. Right now we are in summer which is usually our semester with the fewest students present. In addition to the regular bulletin board, they have a series of display cases in their main hall of the main building, which they have created an incredible display which includes a monitor screen that they control via a computer networked to it and they can scroll common and/or interesting facts and questions about the topics they are displaying for the month. They have had tons of interest from students, staff, visitors, etc.
