Calcium is key to the dairy group, so even though cream is a dairy product, it doesn’t have enough calcium to be considered part of MyPlate’s dairy group. Instead, cream is categorized as a source of empty calories.

Eight ounces of milk contain 305 milligrams of calcium, roughly 30% of a person’s daily calcium needs.
3. A) 3 CUPS
According to MyPlate, most adults should get roughly 3 cup servings of dairy foods per day. One cup of fluid milk, yogurt, or a calcium-fortified beverage is considered equal to a cup serving, as is 1 and 1/2 ounces of natural cheese or 2 ounces of processed cheese.
