Microwave Your Fish

Did you know you can cook fish in the microwave? It cooks quickly and efficiently because it is naturally tender and contains little connective tissue. Here’s how:1. Remove fish from package and place on ceramic plate.2. Cover with plastic wrap.3. If the fish is frozen, use the auto-defrost setting on the microwave.4. Cook the fish until done, about 3 minutes per 4 ounce piece. Some microwave ovens have a fish setting.5. Rotate the fish and check doneness as needed during cooking. The fish is done when it is firm to the touch and no longer translucent in the center.Favorite fish toppings: fresh salsa, barbecue sauce, cucumber/yogurt dressing, fresh lemon or lime.
