Bite of the Week: MyPlate Weekend Challenge

Your clients are probably familiar with MyPlate, the USDA's guide to healthful eating, but how often are they actually using it to guide their meals?Adherence to these guidelines can sometimes be a challenge, especially in these stressful times. So my team and I have come up with a new way into MyPlate compliance!A MyPlate weekend challenge!Basically, your clients will use MyPlate to balance their plate at one meal each day of the weekend. They can email you pictures, post them to social media with the hashtag #MyPlateWeekendChallenge, or share them in whatever forum you're using with your group.By making the challenge span two days, the participants get a few chances to get their plate balanced well, but by asking for only one meal per day, the challenge remains approachable. Not only does this offer inspiration and incentive to your clients as they craft the meal, but sharing the results offers inspiration to the whole group. And you can make the whole activity part of your next blog post or newsletter.Plus, you can do it too! This a great way to find a little recipe inspiration or spring yourself out of a cooking rut.So what do you think? Will you take the challenge? Will your audience?
